the exchange student table.
traits of an architecture student's table:
1. it can be ANYTHING as long as it has a flat surface.
2. it has food on it.
3. it has water on it.
4. it has THE laptop on it.
5. it also has a million and one other things on it.
6. a high back chair (coz a low back or no back one will kill your back) and cushions included.
7. messy is an understatement.
8. mess? wat mess?
9. the table that can stack the most stuff wins.
10. best come with an accompanying foot stool.
11. and a good show while having breaks and meals (as shown in picture).
12. a must-try: try one with an accompanying mirror. ensures even the most cui archi student will look their glam-est.
so come on, tell me.

national day.

10 reasons why national day in china is really hip.
1. chinese national day is not a 1 day holiday but ONE WHOLE WEEK worth of holidayS. it's call the golden week holiday and i'm enjoying it now.
2. chinese national day does not need a ndp to hap things up. everyone is out in the streets during national day. thus for the mountains and mountains of people. and the difficulty in getting on the already-hard-to-squeeze-on trains. thank goodness for the 20something degree weather or it'll be river and river of sweat too.
3. shops closes on national day. darn.
4. shops closes on the day AFTER national day too. daarrrnnn.
5. the trend on national day is to hold inflatable oriental pearl towers and angel wings while walking around.
6. the in accessories on national day are glowing horns, mickey mouse ears, rabbit ears.
7. there is 3 consecutive days worth of fireworks from the national day onwards at the bund. not counting all minor ones let off in the privacy of people's housing estates. (we're talking about china here)
8. as you walk down the streets immersing in the lights of the city, at 10pm sharp the lights still switches off on time.
9. trains still close at 10pm sharp too.
10. at 12am there's only 3 tables occupied at the bar with the best view of the lights at pudong commercial area (but by then it's dark coz the lights are switched off at 10pm), just when you are expecting the hip chinese people to party till late on national day, you realise that it's because the trains stopped at 10pm already. hello cha-dou
