the truth about the candy.
in the south of india, people used to catch monkeys in a very special way. actually they let monkeys catch themselves. what they did is cutting a small hole in a coconut, just large enough for a monkey to put its hand in. next, you fix the coconut to a tree, and fill it with a sweet. the monkey smells the sweet, squeezes its hand into the coconut, grabs the sweet and finds that, the fist does not fit through the hole anymore. now the trick is: the last thing the monkey will think of is to let go of the sweet, and it holds itself prisoner. nothing could be easier for a human being who comes and catches it.
be wiser than the monkey.

a real adventure.
yesterday was like a culinary adventure. "a real adventure!" as my flapjack tshirt would say.
we started out in the early morning paddling, a feeble attempt at some form of exercise or workout. 10km at breakneck speed, i'm sure. it was more like a chatting session with pengs on our raptors aye?
lunch at pow sing at serangoon gardens was the start. 9 persons, but a lazy susan filled worth of food. 1.5 hainanese chicken, prawn paste chicken wings, lotus pork rib soup, nor hiang, sambal gang gong, asam fish head, kor lok yok. nearly couldn't finish. lucky for the presence of at least 3/4 elders and elders-wannabe. hehe. sorry i couldn't pull my own weight. i gave mimi like half my rice but i tried my best with the liao already. heavenly. but bursting at the seams.
l4d2 lan was hilarious. i like being infected more than being human. xiaohui thinks so too. :)
lido cinema is really the pits. small and the sound system is not fantastic i tell you. but sherlock holmes was nice. even though i fell asleep in the middle for a really short while. it's the combination of the breakneck speed paddling and the heavenly pow sing i tell u. pengs wants a bf as smart as sh. i'll have to go look into that soon. haha.
bedok south block 85! dinner with the laolao elders. it was then when i learnt the art of being an elder. haha. can i say the oyster omelette is really delicious even though the elders don't think so? opps. bursting at the seams yet again.
i so need to exercise today to work all that off.

olive oil and red wine vinegar for dressing.
today, i'm finally happy.
new year really brings about new discovery, and new hope. :)
looks like i can last longer after this again.
